  • I also heard from a specialist that they can get as big as the tank they're in. I made the mistake of just getting a bigger tank every time my turtles seemed to need more space and came out with a two pound red-eared slider. Now that I've stopped getting a bigger tank, he's stopped growing.

  • umm im a beginer in owning a red ear slider turtle and he has moss or seaweed looking growning on his shell do i need to worry about that and take him to a vet or not to worry about it? I need to know so i can get him checked out!!! Thank You Kaykay
  • Females get bigger than males, and can have a 12 inch carapace. Males tend to be a bit smaller.
