A "Real" name is anything that a parent chooses to call their child. So I'd say that Morticia is just as "Real" as some of the other ridiculous names that people come up with these days.

Anything is a real name if parents want to saddle their child with it. I have been tempted to take my parents to court for abuse over my name many times. Then i have thought of' Moon Unit' and 'Zowie Bowie' Fifi Trixiebelle Geldorf, among others and just left it alone.

In the dictionary, the word Morticia would come from the meaning of death. However, it is possible to have this name. Don't worry, but there are some other names that probably no one would thought of... Bango Slizark Nercrosis and many others. You can easily make this name. The only thing is that this name will be rare amongst the others.
