But to answer your question, yes. You Rock My World did very well on the world-wide charts. It peaked at #2 on the Uk charts, not sure about US charts, but it made #1 in the Us on airplay. it hit #1 in Australia and New Zealand. The second single, Cry, was only released in the UK, it peaked at #15. "Butterflies" wasn't released on single, but it made #2 in the US on airplay.

Weak reception? That's actually a media fallacy. Michael Jackson and Sony were feuding and as such, Sony never promoted the album and wouldn't release any videos other than You Rock My World, which they didn't let him have enough time to craft the way he wanted to and he wasn't happy with the finished product. With zero promotion and one bad video, it sold 7 million units worldwide, which is more than most regular artists would ever hope to sell even with tons of promotion.
