Both men and women often handle breakups badly. Gender-based generalisations are the worst type of generalisations you can possibly make, because you are judging half of humanity without a care to context. Please think about this before you ask similar questions in the future.

I don't think it's a matter of sex, everyone handles things differently. Depends on who has the most invested in the relationship, or who is more sensitive.

I really think that men handle it better. My brother has endured break ups more than anyone I've ever known and he has never had a problem. Then, I've seen some girls have to be excused from school due to grief after the breaking up of a three day relationship.
