Well, from my understanding the Mayan/Aztec calender is closing to an end, sometime around 2012. Legend says that the last time the Earth entered this cycle, everything went into maximum overdrive, similar to the plot of the movie Maximum Overdrive. Though back then the technology was primitive, the legends state that mans inventions and even the earth turned on every living thing. It's only legend however and was probably a good spook story around the Mayan/Aztec camp fires. Many Mayan/Aztec shamans today recite the legends as man coming into a quickening or spiritual realization, but there are many theorys. This A is derived from books I have read and general gibberish I have come across.

I once ran into myself at the supermarket. At first, I tried to avoid eye contact with myself, but eventually I figured out that I knew I was there, and I didn't want myself to think I'm rude. So I had some chit-chat, told myself things I already heard from others, and I went my separate ways. I promised myself I would have dinner sometime, but I think I will accidentally lose my phone number.

Well it simply means scientifically they are correct. They have predicted based on the movement of heavenly bodies. As humans we will have to understand the very nature of our earth a lot more. I believe that at 2012 we will be in midst of something catastrophic nature . 1. Sun is getting close to Galactic milky way equatorial path. This can increase a cosmic wave interaction more and due to this galactic wind earth movement may be shattered to an extent. 2. Sun spots which is 11 yr cycle will be max. due to the closeness of Jupiter and it will definitely have a drastic impact on earth due to the added galactic winds. 3. Pole shift occuring on earth is a possible dimension and we will have to understand the earth and its geographical position with respect to sun on account of this. This will cause devastation floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions etc along with great continental shift. 4. Our technological advancement is at a very high dimension and it is possible that we will have to face a near certain war /catastrophy as a result of failure of them or improper utilization of them in hands of terrorists. 5. The world is on a brink of war on account of possible clash of US and Iran . 6. The last but not the least is that our scientific understanding may be increased to a new dimension wherein we could takeover from GOD what is left out by him . ( by our great scientific discoveries ) 7. There is also a seemingly possible case which says that there exist another large planet as big as earth unknown as yet to human beings which is revolving around the sun . It has a cycle of 27000 yrs and it will be nearing earth on 2012 which can cause severe effect on earth's geography . It may be in some form of comet and it will overshine on earth during the day just like the sun. Whatever happens it is only a great mystery which will be unravelling to human sciences and senses. This is the truth.

I think it's self awareness

I think that they were right. I have noticed that over the past several years there has been a marked upsurge in people learning various kinds of meditation techniques and much 'know yourself' learning. There seems to be a universal inner persuasion to 'be still'. And as a result of all this, the realisation and acceptance that we are all one and connected to everything else is borne. We realise that we are not indivuated entites but part of the complete allness which is also 'ourselves'.

From what I have read, it means man becomes much more spiritually aware of themselves. That is what it means by meeting ourselves again.Even in meditation and in prayer or when you are silent and thinking you are meeting yourself.

meeting ourselve again means " finally coming face to face with out ancient sisters, the aliens" lol

The quickening of our consciousness growth is helping us to reconnect with "ourselves" thereby getting to know ourselves again. In times past - our evolution has been slow.
