  • This site provides 10 free lessons: http://www.interactiveartschool.com/ You may want to check local art stores as they sometimes have free workshops. I have a "Michaels" by me that has one every other sunday!
  • I was surfing the web for the same cause and got two websites that are very useful for starting the oil painting step by step, http://www.guidetooilpainting.com/drawing.html http://www.simplypainting.com/Free-Painting-Lessons/Oil-Painting-Lessons/ The first one very useful for any oil painting beginners, to know about the materials one needs to start painting and the second web site has two wonderful step by step oil painting exercise, though the pictures are pretty complicated, but I think if any body is really want to paint like me, those would be a very good start.
  • Best step-by-step website is darrelcrow.com. He also sells a set of dvd's which are on sale now. I bought the set and got addicted to viewing them. Darrel makes oil painting look easy. His motto is: anybody can oil paint.
  • you tube. just go there and type in the search box "painting videos"
  • Try Painting-Course.Com The sites has different departments and classes. Art history, Painting, and Drawing. All the tuorials are in video format, and the guy who runs it also has downloadable e books (gotta pay, but they're like 5 bucks) which you can use as workbooks throughout the course. http://painting-course.com good stuff
  • Painting-Course.Com was the best tutorial site on the net, but it looks like it's currently under construction. I hope he gets the old classes back up. Looks like he's got a dvd coming out soon too, but the videos used to all be free there.
