Letterman, for he tells it like it is. Jay Leno is too wimpy,and being broadcasted from LA. says it all.For Johnny Caron ,I have never heard of him.

If I must choose, Leno. Carson was great in his day, and can't be beat for longevity.(even if he spent a lot of his later years with fill-ins while he "vacationed". Letterman does less than nothing for me and Paul Schaefer is downright annoying. I really like (Craig Ferguson)(Thanks Barculuv!)the guy that used to be on the Drew Carey show.

You are comparing one deceased icon to two contemporary rivals. Carson was the best. But he is dead of course. For LIVE talk show hosts, I pick Leno as most versatile, entertaining and creative.
