They grow farts now ? Whatever next !!!!!
-
I think that they are great, however I feel that builders need to take into account the migration routes of birds and be mindful of local bat populations.
-
Why not!? In the midwest, plains states and western U.S. states, they are used quite a bit. I don't think they are that unattractive - could be worse. It is a brilliant harvesting of natural energy. We should use them more! I think it would be a good idea to add solar panels on to the posts to increase the energy collected.
-
I really think they are a good idea. My only concern is how much wind can you grow?
-
I love the idea, but I can see why some people are worried about the proliferation of them, especially in ecologically sensitive areas. It does somewhat spoil the view. I just wonder why we can't have solar panels and a windmill as compulsory in all new homes.
-
They are great, they put them on drab moorland and makes it much more interesting. At the end of the day they look better than an power station of any kind, lets watch them protest then....
-
I think they are one answer to a problem. There is nothing wrong with small personal windmills in a neighborhood. And in the right spots, a windfarm is a fitting use for marginal land. It can still be used for grazing and farming, too. Where as if you had coal or oil drilling that prety much spoils the land. And no expenses for carrying the fuel over roads in truck or pipelines!
-
I think, combined with other forms of renewable energy, they can be exptremely beneficial. However, I understand there's some argument about how they make the landscape look. Out in the desert of California, I think they actually add to the view. But if I had to look out over hundreds of giant fans from my home, I might have a different point of view. But on the whole, I think they're a viable and preferable alternative energy source.
-
I think those tall, white, windmilly things spoil nice green fields. But I suppose they're a good way of creating energy.

They are a farce. As a side not the Kennedy's were for this until they decided they would try some on Cape Cod. They changed their mind and said they caused pollution. Walter Cronkite agreed. Those crazy, wonderful, drunk, drug infested, murdering people.

I grew up in southern MN, close enough. I "blew" out of there as quickly as I could.
