Mariott Kauai Beach Club. It's a mile from Lihue airport, and it is to DIE for. Pricey, though. And by the way... the whole month of July is booked there... I just tried to reserve for myself. -_-

While that Marriott Kauai Beach Club is spectacular (and I will be staying there this upcoming August), you can get 90% of the benefit for 1/2 the price. Stay at the Banyan Harbor resort, which is right across the street from the Marriott. http://www.vacation-kauai.com/index.html A two-bedroom condo suitable for 4-5 people is $125 per night. That includes 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Plus the TV will get more channels than the Marriott provides...;-D... Then you can take a 5-minute walk across the street and enjoy all the amenities of the Marriott. Another benefit of staying at the Banyan Harbor (or the Marriott) is that it is about midway between the end points of the main island highway. Hence, you're only about 45 minutes - 1 hour from any attraction on the island. Here's a photograph taken from the 10th floor of the Kilohana tower at the Marriott. . .
