  • If you are under the age of 12 maybe. Even petite models are taller, as are petite fit or fitting models.
  • maybe a hand or foot model
  • Theoretically anyone can be a model, but your height will to a certain extent dictate the type of modelling you can do. It's highly unlikely you could ever be a catwalk or fashion model. Fashion houses tend to hire girls who are at least 5ft 7 or more, although there is some leeway for girls with particularly desirable "looks" (generally whatever is in vogue at the moment) it's unlikely most agencies would be willing take you on at 5ft 2 because the work just isn't out there. Catalogue work is a possibility, as often they have petite sections (it's also more reliable work and far easier to get into). Glamour modelling is another possibility. Glamour doesn't necessarily mean topless - the term "glamour" just refers to any type of photography wher ethe model is the main point of the picture, rather than anything she might be wearing - although if you're willing to do lingerie shots you'll stand a better chance of work. If you have good skin, a well proportioned figure and plenty of confidence, you might consider giving it a try (try the purestorm and netmodel glamour models websites for a starting point). there are also several companies who employ "normal" looking models for work in advertising, company brochures, college prospectuses and the like - which you would almost certainly qualify for. (There's an agency that does this whose name I can't for the life of me remember! Try googling "everyday models" for now - I'll come back and post the name when I find it out!) So definetly the oppurtunities are out there, although at 5ft 2 unless you happen to be very lucky, (or very busty!) it's unlikely you'll ever make a full time living from it - but you could easily earn yourself a tidy second income if you're savvy about it. Good luck.
  • Photographic Model yes , height is not important, if you are looking for fashion then i am afraid the answer must be, No.
  • How old are you? What type of modeling? According to http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/model/model.html "If you're female . . . You should be somewhere between 15 and 22 years old, though probably closer to fifteen. Models don't have careers that last as long as say, doctors, so agencies tend to want to invest their time in someone young. You should be tall, long-legged, and lean. The minimum height is usually about 5'8", and average weight for a model is 108-125 lbs. These characteristics are partly aesthetic and partly practical: this type of frame looks good on the runway and in front of the camera (which, they say, adds 15 pounds); and a somewhat scrawny build drapes clothing nicely and ensures a good fit in the standard wardrobe. There are always exceptions to the rule, of course - Kate Moss is 5'7" and Gabrielle Reece is a giant 6'3" - but, in general, the closer you are to the industry norm, the better your chances."
