I think AB gives people the opportunity to ask questions to people about things that they want answers to, advice about, etc. That's a good thing. On the 'down' side, I don't think it's the same as it used to be, i.e. there seem to be more 'trivial', less interesting questions, in my opinion. Perhaps because there are more younger, less mature people on AB, than before the 'change'. Not that I've got anything against younger people (I haven't...really!) :-)

Super Question Tandra - I have found lately if I go along with the crowd I'm OK and if I make a mistake and say the wrong thing then I'm told that my grammer needs help in some situations - " If you get my drift ' --- I'm finding it harder to be honest ''

I agree with pattijo. There are some great people on AB, but there are a small few who think they are the Knights ABars. They are few in numbers but are very adept at making their presence felt. Some are the grammarians, who make people very uncomfortable, who don't live up to their educational standards. That is sad- the world is full of lots of people and not all of them have the privileges of some of us educationally. But all people have questions, and if their questions are genuine, sometimes grammar and spelling comes second to providing help and support. I would hate to see people driven from this site because they felt looked down upon. That, to me is the only CON that matters: that people should not insult others on their grammar, or call people names (even IF their answers contain incorrect information). There are ways and means to say things- kind ways, which don't belittle people, but instruct all the same. And I would like the staff take to task those who do insult others- if someone feels hurt by name calling, then that should be acknowledged, even if to the staff it might not seem too serious. The person doing the name calling should be contacted and asked to refrain from insulting language and to consider saying what they have to say in a kinder and calmer manner.

Pros: You can ask a question and get it answered by an AB user. Cons: You discover that AB attracts some of the stupidest people in the entire world to become AB users.
