  • Yes. I don't feel it's a waste of time, but I do think it's a losing battle. Language changes. We've seen changes, in the history of English, in the use of apostrophes as well as in other matters. I think that in 30 years a number of the things we now mark as errors will have gradually become accepted as Standard English.
  • I'm not a teacher, but having read lots of questions on this site that use bad grammar, including all types of punctuation being omitted or wrongly used, my heart goes out to anybody who may be trying to teach this aspect of our language to an audience which seems to be totally uninterested.
