G'day Sleidman, Thank you for your question. The penguin is popular because of its walk and it's unique look. It is also unafraid of humans and we have sympathy for its climate. As well, Antarctic species have no fear of humans. Of course, it is always the case if something is successful Hollywood tries to milk it to death. Regards

The film industry has these momentary trends. One movie gets popular, and there is a huge influx of similar movies...clones, if you will. The same is true of video games and books. Just look back a few years and you can see it.

Because Penguins are hilarious. Ninja-assasin Penguins are the best. Not enough movies about Ninja-assasin Penguins are made, but I'm hoping it picks up eventually. "Beware the killer penguins." Now wouldn't that be a great sign to have on my front lawn?

If a film like "The March of the Penguins" makes a lot of money, Hollywood will make more of them. It's not rocket science. lol
