  • There are a few reason that WIC will not accept Swiss Cheese as an acceptable form of block cheese. First, Swiss cheese if forbidden because it may be an import and the focus of this program is healthy domestic food for the health of your children. Second, children would find Swiss Cheese too bitter to eat, so it would be wasted. Making Swiss Cheese domestically is not as cost effective as making American or Chedar Cheese.
  • Great answer. There is a lot of Wisconsin Swiss and it is as nutritious as the next. What's ironic is that sharp cheddar is allowable. What kind of policy is this? That's just a rhetorical question.
  • It's Holey. Separation of Church and State and all ya know.........
  • In some states it is allowed like texas they allow swiss cheese. Washington has better cereal and better options all around.
