  • LOL oh god you are joking right?!?! Get a job, and excon? you jest! Although society will not come out and say it, and although many throw out that prison is the punishment, the fact is that once you are convicted of any crime it follows you for the rest of your life, not only in social settings, but in employment options, and many of the civil rights you once had are never returned. The "open door policy" of prisons is such not because ex cons are wanting to relapse and commit more crime, it is simply because they are denied employment opportunities, or have to take something far, far beneath their skill and talent. If you lie on the application and the boss finds out you are fired, if you tell the truth then the boss will say that you are not qualified for many, many reasons - never, or rarely do they admit that your being a con is a problem. There are few - too few - potential bosses who will accept an excon. The trick is you need to pound the payment double time to find those few rare gems. Good luck PS let me add I do hire ex cons more often than not, they are hard working and earnest to remain clean and stay out of the old scene. In the past decade or so I only had two become a problem, two out of 2 dozen. All of those who do hire, consider that most men and women fresh out want a clean new start and will work for it if given chances.
