I think that varies state-by-state. Some have strict rules about anyone over 18 with someone under 18, others have an age range where it's OK.

You can date all you want, but the sex is what brings up legal issues. As it's been said, someone under 18 with someone over 18 can be problematic in most states.

Dating is ok, but depending on where you live, it can be illegal for you to engage in any sort of sexual activity before you are 18. I knew people who got in trouble for statuatory rape due to a similiar age difference, and it can cause lots of problems for both individuals.
