  • I stayed awake for almost 5 days straight without the help of any medications. It was an experiment we were doing in college on the deterioration of cognitive ablilities from lack of sleep. The experiment went well until about 116 hours in. My professor came into the room wearing a tie and I thought it was a snake...so I attacked it. My lab partners and I got an A, but I had to buy the professor lunch for scaring the shit out of him.
  • 6 days, and no substances before I got an wink of sleep. Then I was able to get down up to 2 hours a night, and then back into a "normal" sleeping pattern. No pills, drugs, soda, energy drinks, anything that might be considered "help". The longest I was up on drugs, I was up for 2 days, when I had tried meth. Haven't done it since.
  • One day and a half..I was pumped with steriods for my asthma and I was wired.
  • i stayed awake with my friends for 40 hours once listening to loud music, drinking massive amounts of soda, and eating cold pizza drenched in hotsauce. good times....
  • A little over forty hours. We were deployed and had to set up a signal center. Everyone worked the first 12 hours. Then I sent my #2 guy to bed. I worked the night shift along with some others. At the end of the night shift, the night crew was relieved by the day shift. I, however, had other responsibilities that morning and stayed up. Then, I tried to sleep in the afternoon, but couldn't. I finally got to sleep around 10pm that evening and slept a good 8 hours. I used nicotine (cigarettes) and caffeine (soda) to help stay awake/alert.
  • About 35 hours. I worked a 12.5 hour night shift, drove 100 miles to enjoy visitation with my daughter for ten hours, then drove back home. I must have had about 4 cups of coffee throughout that time.
  • Get togethers with friends (To this day.) Prom Night (2006) Summer Solstice (A couple of months ago.) And still do all night stay-ups with friends and such... I'm a night person. I don't usually use anything to keep me up. On one or a couple of occasions I had taken a dose of Ginseng/Guarana, but not the pure-potent stuff, just some derivative. It just makes you less aware of whether you're tired or not. You don't feel tired at all. Whereas when I took nothing, at times I felt tired, but ok to keep going all night.
