Bartending- is it standard practice to charge more when a customer orders a cocktail "tall"?

    No - Usually the glass is thinner and it all turns out the same

    No. When they order a cocktail tall they want a glass glass instead of a plastic one. The place I work at you actually get more in the plastic cups.

    I was a bartender and don't really know what "tall" means. If they mean they want more liquor or mixer to fill a taller glass, I would definately charge them more. Unless the mixer is water and they just want the drink to be a little weaker.
