If you go to the bother of writing a question you want answered that doesn't get answered immediately, is it wrong to *bump* it back to the front page?

Probably not a good idea. Kinda like in a forum, it bothers people when you bump your answer. It's best to wait a while (especially sense there could be new people if you wait) and let other people see your question. I just thought, if everybody was going to be funny and not answer this, I just ruined it! :P

Not really, but it is a little tacky. Patience is part of the Answerbag game, and it usually yields better responses than abrasive immediacy.

A good question will be answered by an interested party. It is not a popularity contest here. If you write nonsense or inane questions, people will get to identify you as a person who makes such questions. If you pour your effort into your questions and it seems like no one wants to answer it, don't worry. The right person will answer it in due time. It's about answers, not questions any way. Post away but if no one answers it may be that your wheel of Karma is not spinning because you need to search for the questions that need more answering than yours.

I don't think it looks appropriate..but I do understand your dilema..It's difficult when you need an answer and you just want to bring your question back to current question status.
