I agree. Problem is getting every country to agree to do something about it before it's too late. I have also heard some plans that sound a little crazy from scientists. One was to load the Earth's atmosphere with tiny mirrors to reflect sunlight away from the Earth.

the UN should be trying harder to achieve peace in the world, not making silly comments like this.

Note, there are more scientists that disagree with the scare mongering of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) than there are signatories to the IPCC's reports.

Why are they wasting money and time on this foolishness?....Oh yeah, I forgot, it will give them massive power over the lives of the entire World population. Even if they go along with the economically destruction Kyoto Protocal, it would make a less than insignificant change in the weather (I believe it amounts to $100,000 for every one billionth of a degree cooler). This is all for something, unproven, unlikely, and unbelievably costly to all the countries of the world. If Al Gore says it, DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!

Of course I believe it. The same way that we have caused all the damage, we can reverse it by either modifying or stop using the technology that's creating the problem to begin with. It's not rocket science, you know? However, it's easier said than done. Try for example, to convince EXXON to stop pumping oil from the Middle East and start using water or electricity as an alternative fuel source. HAH! Would never happen for as long as thugs like that are in control of everything from politics to the economy

Probably true, but it won't happen as long as banks and industry can make more money by sticking it to the little guy. Distributed systems simply make more sense.

No, I don't agree. We have no idea why the current cool cycle is ending (if it is). People seem to suffer from a delusion about the size of the earth. The whole global population could stand on the Isle of Wight (the little diamond shaped island at the bottom of Great Britain). In the 1960's these same scaremongers were telling us that a new ice age was coming.

The UN and the IPCC are full of hot air (pun intended). "MOM" (Mother Nature) is the only "tool" that we need. She does a superb job of taking care of herself and picking up after us -- without ANY "help" from humanity. Don't buy into the absurd AGW hype. The theory on which it is based is flawed. It is based upon a fallacy. CO does not cause warming -- it is a trailing indicator of warming. Besides, 2008 is the coldest year in the past decade. We are on a cooling trend, over which humanity is completely powerless.
