You can buy garage sale items and sell them on E-Bay. My cousins do it and make a pretty good living off of it.

Selling informative and useful ebooks on the internet. People pay for information; paper and ink cost very little - virtual paper and ink (ebooks) cost practically nothing. Just make sure the information is 'informative and useful' otherwise you will quickly lose "customers".

... become a distributor for a "good" Multi Level Marketing company ...

... while MLMs are by far the makers of more millionaires world wide than any other sort of company, there is an extreme need for great caution ... of the thousands of new MLMs that start up each year, over 90% of them go broke and close, 5% to 7% struggle for many years, and only about 3% of all MLMs thrive ... and then there are the illegal pyramid scams that pretend to be legal MLMs, they just rip you off ...

... the "success trick" is to both pick the right MLM, and then instead of trying to buy their product at wholesale and then sell it at retail ... you just find others who want to be able to get a quality product at a wholesale discount, and get them to also join the company as distributors, so they may buy for themselves at wholesale ... then help them to also find others who also want such a good deal ... thereby building a word of mouth advertised downline of simple consumers that are dedicated to their own business, where everyone just buys from 'them self' at wholesale and earns a small commission from all those below ...

    Here are several :

    Car valeting
    Window Cleaning
    Dog Walking
    Housesitting
    Ironing services
    Laundry
    Gardening / Grass cutting
    Loft insulation

All require very little in start up costs, need no specific qualifications and have a high demand and profit margin. There are probably loads more, but they are just a few examples. All you need is the motivation to succeed, hard work and to do a good job and you will soon build up a customer base that will pay you a wage. Even better set up a few friends doing the same thing once you have enough customers and start your own business offering these services.

There are also a couple that can be done on a small budget, but require specialist equipment and / or some training -

    Cycle mechanic
    Handyman
    PAT tester
Freelance instructor (climbing, tennis, skiing, anything you are good at that you can teach someone else)

The world is full of opportunities for those willing to look for them and work at them, it is only these blood sucking corporations that convince you the only way to make money is to sell your soul 9-5 in front of a computer screen.

Of course there are many answers. Probably the best place to start is by looking at categories. Very often, "service type" businesses require the least capital.

The service can be either something you provide because of your educational and experience expertise such as computer programming or it can be more hands on like your own lawn maintenance business.

Service businesses generally require the least capital because you provide the "sweat equity."

Here are three points to keep in mind when looking to start a service business.

    1. Do you love providing the service? If you don't, stop right here. If it is not a reflection of you and your values you are setting yourself up for failure.

    2. Is there a market for this service? Quite simply, what is the demand? You must be very clear about the problem you are going to be solving for your potential clients. What is their pain? How are you the solution?

    3. How are you going to market your business and you? What are the steps you will take to make this venture a success? It is important to have thought of approaches that will work for you. And, here is the key, approaches that you will execute. Thought without action is nothing.

    Good Luck!

Home base business is very easy to start with less capital. I have seen many people around me who are doing home base business and enjoying good profit. They have started home base business with less capital and now they are getting handsome profit.

Consignment shop. You will need to rent a space, buy used racks and hangars from a retail wholesaler. Set up a dressing area. Cash register. Have a fund ready for dry cleaning. Then advertise that you are taking consignments - other people stock your shop. It is not going to make you a millionaire, but it is an easy set up for very little cash.

A pizzeria. The oven aisn't too bad, the paper goods are cheap in bulk, and food costs? Embarrassingly low. Like your cost per pizza averages less than $1.00 usually, but you make $5 or more per pizza.
