Yes I do. I am proud to be an American. However, I am not proud with some of the things that America has done.
-
No, I am ashamed because of Dummie Bush!! What a moron!! Other countries are more into religion and self respect. I think they value things more than SOME american's.
-
I sure do! There are a few things that make it a little hard at times though but yeah for the most part I am proud!
-
Very proud
-
Not really. It's not like I have anything to do with the fact that I'm American...
-
I am proud to be an American.
-
of what? our endless appeals system?
-
Every minute of every hour of every day I am proud to be an American.
-
I am 100% proud to have been born and bred in the USA. I also think people who aren't proud (cough*AlecBaldwin*cough) should go ahead and move to Cuba like they promised.
-
I am very proud of being an American and I always will be. I have never been the kind of person to let other's make me feel ashamed of who I am. Especially not over another person's actions. No matter what anyone tries to say this is still a good country full of good people who try to do the right thing. And that's something to be proud of.

-
Yes I am, just looking at our amazing flag and realizing what it means and it took to build the stars and stripes.
-
I love the USA, visit around the world and you will find how lucky we are.
-
I LOVE AMERICA -- I love the fact that when i travel around the world i never fail to meet someone who wishes to move here -- i think we have lost the truth that no matter how screwed up we think this place is, it is still the preferred place on the earth to live, work and grow a family
-
i have mixed feelings on that subject, sometimes i think its great, and sometime i think we all are ruining everything america stood for in the first place.....=(

People can complain about the U.S. without any fear that authority will try to control thought/opinion/speech. We have a very good standard of living; people who call themselves poor in the U.S. are SO much better off than genuinely poor people elsewhere. And the middle class lives better than kings did 200 years ago. We have our share of crooks and liars, but there have been studies performed comparing different nations' attitudes and behaviors pertaining to honesty, and the U.S. is a pretty honest culture. We give a lot to those less fortunate. We at least TRY to educate every citizen, even though results are mixed and some citizens don't want to be educated. The U.S. has faults, but in my opinion the country does better, on average, than any other. For example, our legal system makes me crazy sometimes, but no country has a better one.
-
Not with the current "Dumb-Ya" in office, but otherwise, yes. +2 p.s. I'm a US citizen. To me, an "American" is a person who lives in North, Central, or South America.
-
YES I AM!!!!!!!
-
Yes Because the world envies us!
-
I was born here. Nothing I did to arrange that... I am proud of many things that the U.S. Stands for... and I am ashamed of many things it has done and continues to do. Sigh...
-
I can't be "proud" to be an American because it didn't require any effort on my part to become one; however, I am very happy that my mother was here in America instead of Suddan or Afghanistan when I was born.
-
Because, even though we have issues, we have the freedom, the resources and the capabilities to fix our issues. We have a reputation for laziness, but, in fact, statistics show that, compared to our international counterparts, we work longer hours and more days per year. We ARE hard workers. We have a huge bounty of diversity and it is ALL available to ALL of us. We have rights that others in the world can not even count among their priviliges.
-
Yes. As you can probably deduce from my screen name, I'm in the military. Like many other thousands of Americans, I've gone into harms way to defend the United States and her way of life. I've been along side others who have the same outlook that I do. When you're coming back from a convoy surrounded by potential danger around ever corner and you see the American Flag flying high above a dirty dusty base, it's the best looking thing in the world. I've deployed three times the Middle East under different circumstance each time. You're damn right I'm proud.
-
Hell yes i am!

-

-
I'm somewhat thankful to be American, considering how a lot fo the world lives, but not proud..I don't think the actions of hardly any governments in the world have left it's peoples with much reason to be proud.
-
At times since obama has been elected I think I don't , but then I gave my life to a career serving this country and I love America so damned much that I am willing to die to defend her. And I am proud of all the great men and women who gave their all for this country as they believed in the American life and God and the honor of the symbols of America. Our Flag is our greatest symbol and people disrespect it way too much. Yes I am proud of America.
-
HELL YEAH i am!!! wish other people could be, also..... +
-
Yes, I'm proud to be a citizen of the greatest country ever conceived -- even if it's not working out as planned right now.
-

I'm proud to be an American because as of yet I still... Have the right to voice my opinion. Have the right to make my own decisions. Have the right to achieve whatever I want. Have the right to be me.
