Help answer this question below.
Well you can buy products that do claim to get rid of spots within eight hours, like neutrogena micro technology, but different it works differently for different people:

Here is a link of reviews. You can also use other household items, such as toothpaste. Toothpaste has cleaning chemicals in it and so if you place it on the spots it will dry them out, at the same time cleaning them and it will reduce the swell and size of your spots. I have used toothpaster before and it works for me. But make sure you only leave it on for about 5 minutes, if you leave it on too long you can get chemical burns.
Another alternative is using lemon/lemon juice. Spots do not like the natural acidic acid in citrus fruit such as lemons. This will not take immediate effect, but if you keep using it on your face it should clear up your spots within 1 to 2 weeks, (well that's how long it took for me anyway)
Also don't touch your spots, or if you do wash your hands immediately afterwards because they do spread very easily.
To prevent spots occuring you can use products like clearasil etc.. which opens and cleanses the pores. But make sure that after you have used it you use toner which closes the pores, this prevents dirt getting trapped in your pores and therefore causing more spots to occur.
I hope this is of help.
:D
