  • Your shunt is just a resistor in series with your load. Increasing your load will increase your mv (that is just how it is). I suspect that the meter that you are using to measure the shunt voltage is averaging the reading, and the inverter is drawing a pulsing current. The shape of the current draw (and therefore the shape of the voltage) may be "confusing" the meter. If you have an oscilloscope then look at the shunt voltage with that. HTH.
