  • The PS3 can play most PS2 games; but not all. The PS3 (I think) uses emulation and not all games are compatible; yet. Hopefully, soon, system updates will fix the problem.
  • Most are compatible but not all i would say about 95% are.
  • I have a 40gb PS3 and it is not compatible with ANY of the PS1 or PS2 software. I am rather upset about this, because I was told by the store where I got it that it WAS and I traded in my PS2 to get the PS3. So, now all my PS2 titles are useless unless they release some sort of software patch that allows the PS3 to run older format games, or I get the money together to go and buy another PS2, which annoys me because I'll pay more than what I got for it. In case anyone from Sony is reading this, I would gladly pay a nominal amount of money for a downloadable software patch from PSN that gives me backwards compatibility.
