With regard to the government's ability to take what land it wants, I can't agree with it. Why do they charge me for the land in the first place and assess taxes on it if I don't really own it in the end? We can talk if you need the land for a new commuter railroad or a hospital, but Wal-Mart?? Who's lining whose pockets?

I hate it, and I'm disgusted that many of the Liberals in the Senate voted on it. Can't we all agree that it's bad to take people's land? They destroyed the poor people's homes around where I live to make room for a Costco and other such big businesses. Yes, I'm a Conservative and I hate this EVEN for big businesses.

Eminent domain should only be used infrequently and for public works that have a clear benefit to the public. I am a strong believer in property rights. I have attached sources for your reference.
