once you start up your PS2, you will see "browser" and "system configuration". Go to system configuration, and scroll down until you find language. press X and you can choose from about 8 languages.

However that doesnt affect the game's languages, any ideas on how to change thoose? Not sure why, buy my games are in French, and would like to play them in english Any help / ideas are very much appreciated, thanks again MC

Regional specific games purchased in a specific country language such as french, spanish, german, italian, cannot simply be changed to play in English. The language information is hard coded into the game engine and cannot be changed by the hardware. Sell the foreign version and obtain a copy of the language you need.
