1) I think after having a drink, any brain cell would be dead. (just joking) 2) too many: I suggest you take a look at the following article, e.g. the image of a six week old infant with fetal alcohol syndrome. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_alcohol_on_the_body 3) On the other hand, I have found a reference saying that some own damage is not irreversible: Fact 255: "Some recent animal research suggests that brain cells destroyed by long-time exposure to alcohol can be reversed when the animal (human?) is abstinent from alcohol for awhile". Source: http://www.utexas.edu/research/asrec/alcoholfacts.html 4) I found a reference which said that each drink will kill 500 neurons. I suppose the mentioned study was not paid by the alcohol industry. Source: http://home.vicnet.net.au/~wctu/alcohol.htm

Cliff Clavens Buffalo Theory: "Well you see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive drinking of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

how could anyone ever measure something like that? It's just something someone made up...at best its an estimation but I wouldn't even call it that.

About a hundred. This is the Rainman Theory. Yeah, definitely about a hundred brain cells. Uh oh, fifteen minutes to Judge Wapner.

I would that due to the fact that you consume things everyday that have alcohol related properties such as vegetables and fruits for that is where the alcohol comes from truth of the matter is one drink won't kill any brain cells but as if you drank to intoxicate yourself you would kill brain cells because to much of one thing is bad for you but as the old saying goes a glass of wine is good for the veins and the brain and just for the record any drink has the same amount of alcohol ex shot, glass of wine, one beer unless of course you a drinking moonshine but you dont come across that very much
