My lexmarkz11 printer stopped working. The ink cartridge is full, connections are good. Why no printing

Sometimes they just die mine did after I tried to refill the ink cartridges myself so I went to wally world and got the Z645 for 26 dollars...What burns me is the ink cost more than the printer...
