Ok I think it's kinda like an armpit situation! Gotta keep them all clean and fresh more so than say....your shoulders or toes.

No more dirty than any other part, perhaps even cleaner. The biggest difference between, say, your hands and your pubic area for example would be odor. This is due to the presence of different glands in the pubic region. Much like the armpits, this odor can become "objectionable" if not kept clean. Bacteria can thrive in the moist regions of the body, but simple hygene should keep this at a minimum. Your hands come into contact with far more bacteria than most of the rest of the body, simply because we use them to handle everything. The mouth is by far the "dirtiest" place in terms of bacteria. Unless you have an infection "down there", daily hygene will keep you clean enough.
