  • no. the judicial system, maybe.
  • Possibly. It does seem to indicate some form of bias.
  • I the death penalty should be done away with completely. It does not fit in to society.
  • No, the death penalty has always been a cruel and unusual process and nothing can change my mind on that.
  • No, I have advocated life in prison rather than the death penalty for decades for two reasons: 1. The death penalty cannot be reversed if new evidence is found. Numerous men of all races have been released recently when the analysis of DNA became available. 2. Our judicial system has an automatic appeals process that makes the cost of the death penalty greater than the cost to keep someone in prison for life.
  • No. There are lies, there are damn lies, and there are statistics. Too much is unexplained here; were the executed white? had long wrap sheets? had more victims? There are more whites than blacks in America so what do you mean they are murdered in equal numbers? Or are equally likely? murdered by same race or other race? I find it hard to believe they are equally murdered in the first place.
  • No, I remain against the death penalty. With the use of DNA a shocking number of black men have been found to be serving sentences for crimes they did not commit, I am concerned about that. I think the war on drugs = crack becoming available as a cheap drug= rise in women being addicted to crack living in poverty = the rise of an unprecedented number of black women being incarcerated = impoverished communities felt the effect of the family system falling apart as women historically have held families together. This was something I watched on a documentary about The War on Drugs and it's ripple effect.
  • No. Try getting the correct facts. U.S. EXECUTIONS BY RACE AND GENDER White 630 (57%) Male 1,088 (99%) Black 377 (34%) Female 011 (01%) Hispanic 076 (07%) Native Am 014 (01%) Asian 008 (01%)
  • No. The death penalty should be universal and mandatory for those convicted of murder.
  • Not even a little, tiny, teenee bit.
  • No. After flip-flopping several times about the death penalty during my life, I have finally settled on being against it. The main reason being that the US has "the best justice system money can buy". One only need look at the O.J. Simpson trial to see how true that is. I don't think such an imperfect institution should be given the power of life and death. If a prisoner sentenced of life-without-parole wishes to end his own life voluntarily, I think that prisoner should be provided with humane means. But that should be the prisoner's decision, not the State.
  • Well, I'm pro-death penalty. And I heard that blacks are ten times more likely to get the death penalty than whites. Also, the sentences for crimes against white people seem to be more severe than if black people are the victims. That just means we need to start killing more white guys. Will excuting more scum in our country make us better in the long run? Probably not. But I don't think we should just let it continue to pile up, either.
  • Not in the least. I have long opposed the state killing of unarmed civilians.
