    79.5 inches! as if it was that high! i don't know where you read that... the highest i have ever heard was Earl Manigault who had a vertical of 52 inches - claimed to be the best basketballer who never made the NBA(due to his drug addiction, and time spent in jail). there is a story about him jumping and collecting a 5 dollar note from the top of a backboard. which is absolutely insain as he only stood 6'1' tall.

    the world record vertical jumps is set by Kadour Ziani (5'10)
    Highest Vertical Leaper from Slamnation with a vertical of 60". ive seen this guy jump. its hardly a jump... he flies.
