  • Tried reverse psychology (that's not for you, adults only, that sort of thing)?
  • there are some great recipes that incorporate veggies and the kids have no idea they are eating them. you might try tricking them that way.
  • Don't give them the option of being fussy.
  • Step 1: Don't tell them to eat veggies "because they are good for them". Step 2: Eliminate all bad foods from the house. Step 3: Bake healthy treats, get kids to help. Step 4: Show kids that fruit and veggies are treats, not chemical-chocolate and sweets. Step 5: If they don't want to eat veggies they don't have to, but serve them anyway. Step 6: When eating, let your kids see how much you enjoy your veggies. Step 7: Give it time. If they don't eat any food and it becomes a health issue take them to the doctor. These steps are necessary because if you do not teach your children to eat in a healthy way it will only become more and more difficult for them to change their habits. A poor diet can result in health problems, it is for their benefit.
  • Dye them crazy colors. My mom used to make my cauliflower purple.
  • We just didn't let them start the next meal until they finished what was on their plates from the previous one. Worked like a charm. Now, if a particular kid hates broccoli because (as I understand) broccoli tastes bitter to some people, we'd either serve something else as well or serve the broccoli with a cheese sauce; but you're the parent, they're the kid, and kids for their own good have to be trained to accept new flavors. You train them by putting a serving of what you think they should eat on their plates and letting them eat it when they get around to it. A hint: If they don't like a food, teach them only to eat alternate bites of what they don't like and something that they do. And kids should be allowed to specify a very few foods that they really hate, such as liver or okra, and not be forced to eat them. But make them try them. I always thought I hated cabbage because of the smell, but found that I like it a lot.
  • try different ways of making them, try giving them a dipping sauce, try setting them up on the plate in a funny way, last but not least bribe them if they want something to drink with dinner they will have to finish 1/2 there food first or all there veggies or a special desert if they clean there plate.
  • my daughter's pediatrician suggested putting baby food (carrots, sweet potatoes, squash) in her macaroni and cheese.
