Its his opinion. What is good for one person is bad for another.

LOL. Apparently to Russell Crows it is that bad. We have to know what he's reacting TO before we can tell you if we think he IS overreacting. LA is what you make of it. It's huge, and parts of it are fantastic. West Hollywood on Gay Pride day is fun. Beverly Hills is beautiful. Westood, where UCLA's located, is cool. Hollywood is old but...there. The San Fernando Valley is big and crowded. I like LA, but I wouldn't want to live there, Overall, though, it's doing just fine without Russell Crowe.

My uneducated and couldn't-care-less guess would be that that statement has something to do with him being arrested in the States for throwing a phone at someone in a hotel lobby. In other words, he's just being a whiner. Yawn.

RC is a notorious self-absorbed idiot. Listen to Randy Newman. Like me, he loves L.A.

Bad is a relative term. Any where can be bad if you make it so. I usually advise people if they are contemplating moving to somewhere new then it would be smart to take a two to three week vacation and scout out the environment to get your own feel before making a big decision. It also helps to have connection or contacts to a native person living there to speed up your knowledge or the lay of the while you're visiting that way it speeds up the process.
