Help answer this question below.
jew dont celebrate easter. it is a christian holiday. jews are not christians. jews celebrate passover which existed before easter. jesus was jewish. he celebrated passover. easter is not really a christian holiday, as few 'christian' holidays are really christian. they are adaptations of 'pagan' holidays modified so that people would convert to christianity. duh.
NO!
Er, no.
Jewish people don't celebrate Easter. We celebrate Passover which happened to be around long before Yeshua Ben Yoseph was born. Passover commerates the exodus from Egyptian slavery. Yeshua Ben Yoseph was Jewish and also celebrated Passover.
I also want to pick on your semantics.
Jews don't believe Christ has arrived. You see Christ by definition is the Messiah and according to Judaism, Yeshua was not the Messiah.
Jews believe Jesus was not the lord incarnate butthey believe he was a prophet if im not mistaken so no they wouldnt celebrate the fact that he died. or anybody for that matter because that is just kind of evil to do
Based on the question I assume you do not know what Easter commemorates. Jesus died on what is called "Good Friday" and supposedly rose from the dead three days later (which is when Easter is celebrated).
If you're really saying that Jews would celebrate a day because it was when Jesus died and Jesus was (according to Christians) ending/completing the OT and beginning a NT, then no, Easter is not the time for that - it would be Good Friday.
If you're just wondering if Jews celebrate that day, too, alongside Christians, the answer is still no because Easter is about Jesus's supposedly resurrection which Jews do not believe took place.
There is a group of Jews called "Jews for Jesus" who do believe Jesus was the son of GOD and follow all of the Jewish traditions and worship JESUS. They believe (and I tend to agree) that Jesus intended it to be that way. He came to show the Jews how to properly worship GOD though Him because the Jewish leaders of the time were corrupt and power hungry. The Jews rejected Him so His apostles turned to the Gentiles. So, the person you work with may be one of these type of Jews.
I personally am A Christian and I don't do Christmas or Easter, I feel they are offensive to Jesus in every way, but that is another topic.
jews do not celebrate easter, as easter comes from pagan roots and has nothing to do with the real commemoration of Chris't death. jews also do not commemorate his death because they do not believe him to be the messiah. if you want to know what should be observed, the bible clearly indicates in the greek scriptures that jesus christ came together with his apostles on nisan 14 c.e., at which time he first celebrated passover for the last time. after which first he dismissed judas, then he "took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: "this means my body which is to be given in your behalf. keep doing this in remembrance of me." also, the cup in the same way after they had the evening meal, he saying: "this cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in your behalf." thus this date corresponds to saturday march 22, after sundown. Jehovah's witnesses will be gathering world wide on that most sacred evening of the year to do exactly what our lord jesus christ said, and remember the sacrifice he performed on our behalf. everyone is welcomed to attend. your locality should have a kingdom hall which will be holding this observance. for more information go to www.watchtower.org we hope you can join us in remembering such a solemn occasion.
Christians ... Jews ... Muslims ... and all of the rest are BULLSHIT ... Just an excuse throughout the centuries to kill each other. More people have died fighting about religion than all of the wars and sicknesses combined. When will the human race ever figure out tha this is not even close to what our creator had in mind ... Fools ...
no they celebrate Easter because Cadbury Creme eggs are delicious.
Celebrate an execution? No, i do not think that Jews do this. Why? Do you celebrate the execution of religious figures of other religions?
The Jewish religion does not celebrate Easter. Easter is a Christian celebration (of pagan roots). The Jewish holiday Passover is around easter time but does not have anything to do with Jesus.

Bizarre..Why would a people celebrate an execution?
by -O-uknow on April 21st, 2007
christians don't celebrate the execution, they celebrate the resurrection... which never really happened anyways, but thats what they believe. it is just one more idea stolen from older religions just like the virgin birth.

The question itself is almost insulting to jews. Are they bloodthirsty monsters?
by -O-uknow on April 21st, 2007
Furthermore you help to confirm what I've been saying on AB. Religious questions are asked by those who wish others to dispute a religion they themselves doubt and not because they are confused as they profess. This example further strengthens my case.
