I'm not a fan of oysters, but I prefer them smoked or steamed and with garlic butter. Raw is out of the question, I cannot eat anything with a texture resembling snot.

Fresh out of the shell. Grab a rock, break the shell, scoop it out, chew slightly then swallow. An acquired taste, of course, and make sure you're getting them fresh and from an area uncontaminated by pollution and waste. The further from the tide mark and closer to the water (when the tide is out) the less salty they'll be and the moister they are - I usually go for those ones.

Thanks to all who answered with some varied responses. Personally, I will eat them anyway but oysters mornay is my favourite. Our family has some beautiful south coast oysters on Christmas Day for our lunch together with prawns, ham, turkey and salad. It is often hot on Christmas Day but it was actually snowing at times last Xmas in Jindabyne. Still, it was a lovely spread. Regards

Charbroiled--season oysters on the half shell with garlic, seasoning and lots of butter and put them in the broiler. It's not only yummy, but is great for those who are not a fan of raw oysters

Through a feeding tube so you don't have to taste them. :) At least for those of us that detest them. I don't know that you get the aphrodisiac effect this way though.

On the half shell, ice cold with lemon wedges, a shot of Tabasco and a cold beer!!

I like them fried in a cajun style breading with Tabasco hot sauce.

One Cracker (And I don't mean a white brother) an Oyster (I apply 4 or 6 onto it) Cocktail Sauce and Apply Lemon juice onto it That's how I like to eat mine

I like them cooked and in oyster stew made with milk and butter and crackers. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Most of my family will not eat them in any form. It would have to be very quickly if they would ever eat them. LOL
