Choice between 2 painters. A: walls perfect but gets paint on ceiling B: no paint on ceiling but walls have runs and splotchy coverage. Who should paint the room (neither are pros)

I think painter B should paint near the ceiling and painter A should do the rest.

I would pick painter A and put a sheet with masking tape on the roof.

I'd either do it myself neatly or I'd hire a pro if I didn't want to or was too busy at the time.

Go with the one that gets paint on the ceiling, then make him paint the ceiling for free since it was his clumsiness that caused the problem. The bonus in all this is that you get your ceiling painted for free!!!

Fire them both. I wouldn't let either get near my home. They would both have to come back and repaint for their errors, pros or not. It's easy to paint, what's the problem. If you MUST pick one, mask off everything and let the first one at it. The runs and splotchiness will ruin your wall and have to be removed so don't let him near your walls.
