  • because no one has figured out brain surgery yet and we all know the drugs dont work!
  • Some are certainly curable. If you are meaning "mental illness" in the general sense, many phobias, anxiety problems and depression conditions can be cured, not to come back again. There are some conditions that a person will suffer from for life and have to treat, but some are certainly "curable."
  • This is actually not true. There are many types of conditions that are classified as mental illnesses and many of them ARE cureable. If we set out to believe that there is no cure, we can actually psych our bodies into believing that we have a terminal illness. Many people beat the odds in "incurable" diseases by believing that they WOULD get better and not giving up. What we believe about something can certainly influence the outcome. It should also be taken into consideration that drug companies make more money by treating illnesses than by curing them. If someone believes they need a drug forever, they will purchase that drug forever and this is a guaranteed revenue stream for the drug manufactuer. On the other hand, if you believe you can get better, and find a way to do so, you won't take your drug forever. Less money for the drug company.
