When you sell books back to a place like Half Priced Books, are you supposed to negociate with them or take the price offered?

From my experience, the half price store I take mine to gives me one - fourth of the price regardless since they sell for half price; they have to make a profit somewhere. What is their policy?

you can always try to negotiate. i tried negotiating a traffic ticket to be cheaper but was unable.

I use a place called "Paperback Trader" and thier buying and selling prices are very firmly laid out so there is no room to negotiate. I think this is the most fair way to do it. They also give an extra discount if you are an avid book trader to drum up business.
