  • I would think everyone involved holds some responsibility ~ his parents, school authorities and counsellors, and the police. He slipped through the cracks which is common. Perhaps in the end our society at large is responsible and that includes all of us. Something is terribly, terribly wrong in this country.
  • He clearly had issues, probably could have been treated chemically with prescription drugs. The fact that he premeditated this event and did quite a bit of preparation and did it sneakily without being noticed indicates to me that it was not a mental illness in the sense that most people define mental illness. If he just snapped, picked up something nearby and went on a killing spree, I would chalk that up to mental illness and hold him partially liable. In this case, it was premeditated, he wasn't obliviously doing things that people just ignored, he deliberately was secretive and precise in carrying it out, I would hold him fully accountable. Whatever motivated him, depression, repressed anger, whatever, does not over-ride the fact that he did not act this way on impulse, but deliberately and with full knowledge of the consequences.
  • He knew what he was doing, the fact that his parents, family, friends (if he had any) should have noticed and got him help. I think that crimes of this nature, if the shooter is not killed, should carry the death penalty. A slow painful death. but I also feel that if peop[le were allowed to carry guns, this problem would have ended after the first person shot.
  • he was ok when he left that note saying why he did it so yes concequences are a mutha f*****......sorry but that's life
  • He knew what he was doing. He had been planning this for several months. I do not pity him at all. I feel for the victims and their family and friends.
