G'day Weston Campbell, Thank you for your question. It is a longstanding cultural tradition. However, in most animals males normally put on the display to attract the female. This is probably due to the fact that the female will automatically pass on her genes when they breed, the male will not unless he can find a female to breed with. This puts the female in the box seat where she can pick and choose the best mate. Regards
