There is no such animal in my life.
Hard question to answer. I would never expect literal UNCONDITIONAL love...but I am loved a great deal by my parents, husband, children, and my real friends. I am a very fortunate person and I thank God everyday.

God. i wouldn't be here if He doesn't love me. He does not expect us to return His love. we may not seem to realize that He loves us but the universal truth is that He loves us so much that He is sad when we are sad, happy when we are happy. He always showers us with His love and blessings. He is the only one who will forever stay at our side.
It used to be Carol until she sprang too many leaks for me to fix. Now it's Betty.
My children. I believe at the lowest point in my life when I was looking for that unconditional love even though they were to young to understand what I was looking for they loved me.

Yourself is the only one that would put up with your shit for the rest of your life.
Anyone else such as friends, co-workers, soul mate & family might bounce on you when things go wrong.

Has/does anyone here have a lover that your family didn't/doesn't like or disowned you for? Why do families do this?

Loving yourself is something to be proud of. I'm sure there will be others who see just how special you are!

If you loved yourself and have been your own "source," the accompanying feeling would be joy, not sadness or regret...nor would there be a counter measuring the time of this apparent solitude...
And, if you look closely enough, I doubt you'll see that pity from others is satisfactory in alleviating your sadness...
What I'm (hopefully) gently suggesting here is that you consider that "love" might, in fact, not be what you've been supplying yourself...
hint: love is full acceptance....the word or concept "sad" doesn't exist in this state of awareness...
