  • My understanding is that 'box jumping' as illustrated in this link: http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/plyometricexercises.html is the best plyometric exercise for increasing vertical leap. However, if you read the page carefully, it notes that this is *only* for athletes who have trained sufficiently in less strenuous plyometric exercises to develop the necessary conditioning for box jumping. Please be careful and work your way up to intensive plyometrics gradually. Good luck. . . .
  • If you are asking this question with regards to your DOG...then I would say hiking over challenging terrain. I grew up across the street from a mountain, and began walking pups as soon as they were about 10 weeks old, with their mother up there. We started on very easy trails and as they grew advanced to harder more vertical paths, up rocks, you name it. All of these dogs were very strong, agile, willing to work, excited to work, bold and confident in their own abilities. Disk catching can also be good for a dog, as can playing fetch with a ball or any other item the dog fancies a game of.
