If you chose to do so in the line of duty and felt your reasons for being there are justified, then sure.
-
Yes, if that person believes in his country.
-
I'm sure someone could think of a way that it isn't. I won't say it's not good and honorable. From my point of view, I wouldn't be the right person to give an answer.

Considering the current state of the world, I'd say yes, you're defending your country. But I think the same question asked of german soldiers during the second world war would generate a whole different thought process.

"The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his." - General George Patton
-
It depends entirely on the situation. If you die in a humiliating manner, for example, then it would not be a good thing

I think the question of honor is on the ones that send troops into battle for the wrong reasons.

I have always wondered about this. The soldiers say it and the families of the dead say it, but do they turly believe it or is it something they are told to believe. I don't know what I believe, I think it more just sad that people have to give up their life.
-
No, it is far better to live for God and to do his will.

It's honorable to die for one country but foolish to me to die if the leaders place you in a position to die that you don't even believe in. Right now we have troops in Iraq dying every single day for so called weapons of mass destructions, to so called end terrorism and other so calls when it seems oil seems to be more of a factor then American safety. To me in this day in age our leaders arent worth trusting and it seems everyday people die more of a symbolic death then actual death for their nation. Remember during Vietnams they said to evade going to war meant you miss on the oppurtinty to make a difference. So many people died for the honor of America, the ideals of freedom and the belief of change and those who died basically died in vain since we hoped up in left. The same people who begged commitment quit on troops. So for me there is great honor to die for your country but if the agendas, the belief systems. and rewards from a dangerous life in war don't match up what I believe I rather pass. I have only ONE life and I would rather loose it in Honor then in Vain. I rather not walk around my life thinking about those I killed if it was for a bs reason because if you go to war under a misleading banner are you really justified to kill anyone? I praise the troops but I denounce the shadiness of any leaders. My opinion downrate me if you must but it ain't changing

I wouldn't say its good as its better to survive.
-
If you are serving an honorable country with honorable motives.
-
Let the other guy (enemy) die for his country. Live for yours.
