Sometimes. But you should err on the side of caution and not consume foods that are canned commercially if the can is dented. A dent in the can allows an air leak that causes bacteria to grow and can lead to foodborne botulism, a rare but dangerous muscle-paralyzing illness caused by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. I work at a food bank and we throw all dented cans away. For the same reason in the previous answer. A dented can can NEVER be trusted.

It should be okay as long as the dent isn't along one of the seals. But botulism is nothing to mess around with, so if in doubt, throw it out!

if its dented in your probably ok but if its dented out you better stay away

Depending on if its dented inward or outward. Inward, yes. Outward, no. If its bulging at all it can be a sign of botulism.
