  • As of the census of 2000, there were 292 people, 131 households, and 89 families residing in the village. The population density was 77.2/km sq (199.9/mi sq). There were 144 housing units at an average density of 38.1/km sq (98.6/mi sq). The racial makeup of the village was 97.60% White, 1.03% African American, 1.03% from Race (United States Census)other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.71% of the population. There were 131 households out of which 24.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% were Marriagemarried couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.3% were non-families. 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.70. In the village the population was spread out with 19.2% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 24.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 82.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.4 males.
