  • Releasing names of those involved in a tragedy is one of the sad realities of our world. Names of those perishing and surviving automobile crashes, plane crashes and the like are released as part of the public's "right to know."

  • It was released online (key word) in 2007. I have it in print in much older books. Having said that, it is a major historical event and most of the passengers were listed/printed as dead/surviving in the newspapers of the time. Then there was the who's who provided and distributed to upper class passenegers BEFORE the Titanic sank. So, why all the fuss now? This has been out for years offline.
  • The Titanic disaster was a very public tragedy, and it follows that the names of the passengers should be released to the public. At this point, the list has historical purposes, and can help people trace family trees, etc.
