I don't really think its wrong. Only two people that were aboard the titanic are alive today. Its historical information and its that big of a deal. I don't see why anyone would be offended

It is an historical fact I do not see anything wrong with it at all. All our soldiers that have died have their names published in stone ,on War Memorials

It hasn't already been released then? I doubt if it will become a matter of national importance - most of them are dead.

Releasing names of those involved in a tragedy is one of the sad realities of our world. Names of those perishing and surviving automobile crashes, plane crashes and the like are released as part of the public's "right to know."

It was released online (key word) in 2007. I have it in print in much older books. Having said that, it is a major historical event and most of the passengers were listed/printed as dead/surviving in the newspapers of the time. Then there was the who's who provided and distributed to upper class passenegers BEFORE the Titanic sank. So, why all the fuss now? This has been out for years offline.

The Titanic disaster was a very public tragedy, and it follows that the names of the passengers should be released to the public. At this point, the list has historical purposes, and can help people trace family trees, etc.

The passenger list has been printed in books for 50 years. It has been updated and checked and the most accurate one, written in 1986, is already avalible.
