Is there a way to get rid of moles on your skin? I've heard that using string to cut off circulation can work. Is this true?

pick it off, or get it surgically removed. but picking it off isnt a good idea, supposedly it could cause cancer or something.

I took one off of my buddies arm with a 12 gauge. He now has no mole and no arm, but that's just a small problem to the big fix. It works everytime it's tried.

You go to a doctor and they cut it out. They'll also do a biopsy to check for cancer. If the mole is on your face, you might have a small scar so think about that before you get it removed.

Do get it checked, though, as moles can be cancerous.

Now, if you mean the animal, you can get garden spikes to put in their tunnels that aren't poisonous and run them out of your yard.

I used this method for a large skin tag (those little pieces of skin that grow on your neck, underarms, etc.) and it worked. The trick is to get the string tight enough to cut off circulation because once it's on, it's hard to remove without cutting yourself. It takes a couple weeks for the skin tag to come off. Before falling off it turns color. One it falls off, your skin is smooth and there's usually a tiny red mark that disappears in a few days.

  • You have to go to a good skin specialist. Don't mess with it yourself, it could be dangerous.

    Over and Out

If we mean a rodent mole ... some say to put unwrapped Juicy Fruit gum in it's hole -- it will eat it and it clogs up intestines and dies ...
If we are talking about a blemish mole -- you need to have a doctor remove it.

Using a string to cut off circulation is for skin tags, not moles. Go to the doctor, have it removed, and tested.

Well ideally, you should wait for it to surface. However, as this could take years, your best bet is to make a note of where the molehill is and then dig in that area until you find it.

The best way is to have a doctor do it. Why? Foremost, he or she will have it sent to a lab for a biopsy. A string would not be able to remove "clean margins," i.e., get all the cells that caused the mole to grow in the first place. If you use string, there will be cells comprised of the same type of cells remaining, most likely underneath the skin level. So...in time the mole will grow back in the very same spot. There's also a risk of blood loss, scarring, and infection, which could leave you septic (very very ill). A good plastic surgeon can remove it, taking care to get it all and leave you with only minor scarring. I'm no doctor, can't stand them. But, I've had several moles removed from my face and elsewhere. One turned out to contain cells that were pre-cancerous, the type that becomes malignant melanoma. I had gone in to have another mole removed, but the doctor's trained eye most likely saved my life. Fair skinned people with blue or green eyes with lots of moles die from skin cancer (basil cell and malignant melanoma) in record numbers compared to other types. True redheads have the greatest risk. Please...see a doctor!

    Skin -See a dermatologist,

Burrowing kind - This will NOT harm the moles! It will make them leave to find food elsewhere
Though moles are the bane of many lawn owners, they make a significant positive contribution to the health of the landscape. Their extensive tunneling and mound building mixes soil nutrients and improves soil aeration and drainage. Moles also eat many lawn and garden pests, including cranefly larvae and slugs

The formula for the castor-oil repellent can be made by using a blender to combine 1/4 cup of unrefined castor oil (can be purchased at most pharmacies) and 2 tablespoons of a dishwashing liquid. Blend the two together, add 6 tablespoons water, and blend again. Combine the concentrated mixture with water at a rate of 2 tablespoons of solution to 1 gallon of water. Use a watering can or sprayer to liberally apply the solution to areas where moles are active. The above mixture will cover approximately 300 square feet.
