If a manager goes to mound, takes out the pitcher, the new pitcher warms up with 6 pitches, and then before he faces a batter the manager takes him off the mound and calls for another pitcher. Can this be done?

    No. The new pitcher must face at least one batter. That means that the batter must reach base or be put out. The pitcher can then be replaced at anytime after that even in the middle of an at-bat. The only exception would be an injury which I
    guess could be faked, but why would you bring in a pitcher that you needed to have fake a injury to get him out of the game in the first place.
