    Interesting.

    So far as I know, there is not "third gender", unless you are talking about genetic hermaphrodites.

    Transgender people, in my opinion, fall into two categories:

    Post operative, in which they are now physically oriented in their new role as either a man or a woman. In this case they are legally considered their new gender, reproductive capabilities aside.

    Pre operative, in which they are still the sex they are born as, be that male or female.

    Keep in mind here that I'm talking about people with an actual sexual orientation in alignment with the opposite gender than that which they were born as. NOT cross-dressers.

    So in my opinion, this isn't a third gender...it's a gender orientation issue.

    I have never been in pakistan. I know most people are sikh or muslim. I do not know if there is less prejudice.
